I just wanted to commemorate one of the best weeks I've ever had as a writer. Let me just list the things that went right:
I saw Laertes on a featured new paperback table at Barnes & Noble. That was the first time I've ever been featured like that. I danced and then I cried. Dignity, always dignity.
Into the Unreal is now available everywhere as an audiobook, including Audible. The acting in this book is even better than in Firian Rising.
Jake Ruddle, my narrator, finished reading Kingdoms on Fire to prep for the final installment and he absolutely loved it. I got a panicked email from him while I was still in the B&N saying he would scream if I hurt his favorite characters.
I finished my next project (TBA--join the newsletter if you want first dibs!) and proofs are headed to me now.
A different B&N out of town reached out and asked if I wanted to do a signing.
I got a 5/5 review on Goodreads from someone saying that Laertes was one of her most anticipated books of 2022 and it didn't disappoint.
Someone posted a picture of Laertes in front of a pegboard that said "Simply to be is vastly beautiful", which is one of my favorite quotes from that book.
My family and my writing group got me celebratory food and drink to mark the occasion of a flipping amazing week of being an author.
I mean, does it get any better than that? Thanks, everyone, for making weeks like this possible! I'm speechless (except that I'm telling everyone I can--haha!) This has been a dream come true.
